Art on the Beach 2023 continues with an event at Roads End State Recreation Area this time. Incorporated into this days events will be a Community Sand Art Competition where groups of up to four can register for a chance to win prizes for their own Sand Art.

What: Join us for Art on the Beach - Community Competition!

When: This inaugural event is happening on Saturday, Aug 5th 2023 starting at 8:30 am.

Location: The venue is located at Roads End State Recreation Area on Logan Road in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Prizes: 1st Place: Chinook Winds Casino Resort Weekend Getaway, Two Nights Oceanfront Room, plus Dinner for Two ($425 value); 2nd Place: $200; 3rd Place: $100

Drone Image: We will be flying a drone to capture each entry’s sand art, which will be provided to each team via email.

Theme: Cascade Head Biosphere Region inspired art! Entries should be some type of life from the sea, for instance an octopus, a crab, or seaweed which thrives in Oregon's UNESCO Biosphere Region and Marine Reserve at Cascade Head.

This is an incredible opportunity for artists of all levels to showcase their talent and creativity. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this community competition welcomes everyone to participate and celebrate the Cascade Head Biosphere Region through sand art.

During the event, you'll have the chance to create your own masterpiece right on the beach. You will be working next to featured artist, Duncan Berry and his team of volunteer rakers who are creating a giant piece of sand art spelling out BIOSPHERE and bringing the life sustaining ocean condition of UPWELLING to light through a creative sand art design.

Judging: At the end of the competition, a panel of judges will evaluate the artworks and select the winners. Prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding pieces, so be sure to bring your A-game! Judging will take place starring at 10:30 a.m.
